- When
installing a cable in the Ken-Way Jr Electric Drain Cleaner, Check to see
that the crank-arm cable guide turns freely before installing cable.
This is extremely important for correct
operation.
- Insert
the cable into the crank-arm and push firmly into the back of the
drum. The cable should coil into the drum in a CLOCKWISE direction, for Left Hand
would cable.
- Secure
the cable to the drum using the anchor clip inside the drum and fasten
securely. Approximately
one inch of the cable should protrude past the tightened end of the anchor
clip.
- Check
frequently to ensure that the cable end is securely attached to
the anchor clip.
- Feed
new cable into drum using a back and forth motion, causing the
cable to lie against the drum in nice flat even rows, not lose and
sloppy. Torque will feed back
into the drum as obstructions are encountered during machine
operation. The torque will push
the cable up against the drum wall.
When returning cable into the drum, make sure the cable feeds into
the drum in even, tight rows, from back to front. If a coil goes in unevenly, pull it
back out and re-feed it. Lose or
overlapping cable in the drum may flip around and kink up during operation. Remember the drum is not only a storage
container for the cable- but an important functioning part of the machine.
